About PVHP Screening

The Peripheral Vascular Health Program (PVHP)

The Peripheral Vascular Health Program (PVHP) is an initiative focused on improving awareness and early identification of circulation problems in the limbs. Many vascular conditions, particularly Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), develop gradually and may remain unnoticed until symptoms become significant. PVHP aims to support earlier detection through accessible, non-invasive screening.

By combining standardised screening protocols with modern physiological sensing technologies, PVHP enables healthcare providers to evaluate peripheral circulation quickly and safely. The program helps identify individuals who may benefit from further vascular evaluation and timely medical care.

Why Peripheral Vascular Screening Matters

Reduced blood flow to the legs and feet is often associated with common health conditions such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Smoking
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Aging

Circulation problems can lead to symptoms including:

  • Leg pain while walking
  • Cold or numb feet
  • Swelling in the lower limbs
  • Early fatigue in the legs
  • Slow healing of wounds on the feet

When detected early, many vascular conditions can be managed more effectively through lifestyle changes, medical therapy, or further clinical evaluation. Screening helps identify individuals who may require closer medical attention.

The PVHP Screening Approach

PVHP screening is designed to be simple, quick, and non-invasive. The screening typically takes only a few minutes and evaluates physiological signals associated with blood circulation in the limbs.

The screening process may include:

  • Assessment of peripheral pulse patterns
  • Comparison of circulation between limbs
  • Evaluation of temperature differences
  • Identification of circulation asymmetry

These measurements are combined to generate a structured vascular health report, which clinicians can use to determine whether further diagnostic evaluation may be appropriate. PVHP screening is intended to support risk identification and early awareness, and it does not replace clinical diagnosis.

The PVHP 12-Step Screening Protocol

PVHP screening follows a standardized 12-step protocol to ensure consistency across screening centres and reliable evaluation of vascular signals.
The protocol includes:

  1. Patient registration and consent
  2. Documentation of vascular risk factors
  3. Pre-screening clinical observation
  4. Sensor placement according to PVHP protocol
  5. Baseline physiological signal stabilization
  6. Peripheral pulse waveform acquisition
  7. Circulation symmetry comparison between limbs
  8. Temperature gradient evaluation
  9. Flow pattern assessment
  10. Integrated vascular signal analysis
  11. Automated screening report generation
  12. Clinical review and recommendation for next steps

This standardised approach helps ensure that screening is conducted consistently and that results can support appropriate clinical interpretation.

Non-Invasive Screening Technology

PVHP screening uses advanced sensor-based technology to capture physiological signals related to circulation. The system enables evaluation of vascular signals without needles, injections, or imaging procedures, making it suitable for a wide range of healthcare settings.
PVHP screening can be conducted in:

  • Clinics
  • Diagnostic centres
  • Hospitals
  • Community health programs

The technology assists healthcare providers in identifying potential circulation abnormalities that may require further evaluation.

A Network for Vascular Health

PVHP operates through a growing network of screening centres, healthcare providers, and clinical partners. This network helps connect individuals who undergo screening with appropriate clinical follow-up when needed.

The program supports a pathway from:

screening → clinical evaluation → specialist care

By expanding access to vascular screening and strengthening collaboration among healthcare providers, PVHP aims to promote greater awareness of peripheral vascular health and earlier opportunities for intervention.
